If you are a foreign Georgia LLC or foreign Georgia corporation, you will have a $225 state filing fee. A foreign corporation and a foreign LLC are required to have a Georgia registered agent. A registered agent is required to be a person or corporation that has a permanent residence in Georgia.
A certificate of authority as a foreign corporation or LLC in Georgia is required when filing, but before this you’ll need to get a Certificate of Good Standing from your home state. Additional requirements state that it must be dated within 90 days of your foreign filing date. States like Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina all have very low fees.
If you are a foreign LLC or a foreign corporation your cost $100 to file. All domestic Georgia entities are required to maintain a registered agent. You can make these filings for your corporation or LLC in person, by the web, or by mailing the forms and a check payment to the Georgia Corporation Commission at the address listed to the right. On-line filing is also available for a domestic LLC and/or corporations. Once you are registered to do business in Georgia, all corporations are required to file an initial report within 90 days of incorporation. If you pay $100 to expedite, it will usually get processed within 24 business hours, but we recommend only taking this route if you have a pressing corporate matter.
